With its simple, respectful, user-friendly tone, the First Edition of Inside Out and Outside In quickly became a beloved book among mental health practitioners in a variety of disciplines. This Second Edition continues in this tradition, with chapters revised to reflect the most current theory and clinical practice. In addition, it offers exciting new chapters, on attachment, relational, and intersubjective theories, respectively, as well as on trauma.

December 27, 1999: This book introduces readers to looking at case material through the four psychologies (drive, ego, object self). It is clearly written with each construct illustrated with a contemporary case example. I have used this to teach MSW students for three years. The students like it and refuse to sell their copies at the end of the semester!
