Synopsis

Unbeknownst to mortals, a power struggle is unfolding in a world of shadows and danger. After centuries of stability, the balance among the Faery Courts has altered, and Irial, ruler of the Dark Court, is battling to hold his rebellious and newly vulnerable fey together. If he fails, bloodshed and brutality will follow.

Seventeen-year-old Leslie knows nothing of faeries or their intrigues. When she is attracted to an eerily beautiful tattoo of eyes and wings, all she knows is that she has to have it, convinced it is a tangible symbol of changes she desperately craves for her own life.

The tattoo does bring changes—not the kind Leslie has dreamed of, but sinister, compelling changes that are more than symbolic. Those changes will bind Leslie and Irial together, drawing Leslie deeper and deeper into the faery world, unable to resist its allures, and helpless to withstand its perils. . . .

The Washington Post - Mary Quattlebaum

As the sequel to last year's popular Wicked Lovely, Ink Exchange is even more compelling, thanks to Melissa Marr's more nuanced characterizations.

January 30, 2010: this is about leslie, aislinns friend, feeling like she doesnt own herself and that she doesnt have control, so she decides to get a tattoo. She finally gets her pick but what she doesnt know is that the tattoo is gonna change her but not in the way she wants, and she is reminded of that but refuses to listen. She gets sucked into the dark court and their needs.

in this book there is nial, keenan's[the summer king] adviser, irial [the king of the dark court], & no duh leslie. the relationship between the three is hard not to love. and it is so hard not to love irial!

well hmm what to say?

when i first finished wicked lovely {(last year)} i was so ready to buy ink exchange, but then i found out that it wasn't aislinn, keenan, or seth based. i wante dto read it anyway so i looked at some reviews online, and the first ones i read were bad, they said that the book sucked. so i didnt read it. so i ended up reading fragile eternity instead, and i didnt know excatly who bannach was or why nial was (his position)so then like last week i went to the bookstore and some how ended up walking out the store with it. im so glad i bought it!! it was so good...great i loved it! :)

I Also Recommend: Fragile Eternity (Wicked Lovely Series #3), Radiant Shadows, Marked (House of Night Series #1), The Hunger Games (Hunger Games Series #1), Shiver.

December 10, 2009: I loved it was a great series i could not put it down(cliche). i will be perchasing her next and future books. i respect her as an author and i would believe melissa marr's recomendations for other books. i have paperback copies to lend out and a hardcover set for display. The books are a super easy read because it catches your attention form start to finish. i read this book in one day, not stopping. i could not see very well for the rest of the day, but well worth it.
