This is the story of how a shy, lonely boy survives for months in the wilds and forges a bond with a female badger. ALA Notable Book. Newbery Honor Book.

March 09, 2009: I read this as a child, in elementary school. I'm 20 now, and this was a book that I have always remembered for some reason. I don't remember many books from my childhood, but this is one of them. Its a good story. I would recommend it for young readers.
