    Children's Literature

    A smiling blue dog with paws spread wide is featured in the soft inset found on the cover of this board book. Each of the spreads has a colorful ribbon tag to help young ones turn the pages of the book. In this familiar song with lots of invitations for bodily movement, kids are invited to clap, stamp, and shout along with these lovable animals. The cute little pig is the one who urges kids to clap, the cat stomps his feet, and the dog with his own smile urges kids to do the same. At the end they all shout "Hurray!" It is a lot of fun, and great for teachers, child care providers, and parents who may not be familiar with the song. Part of the "My First Taggies Book" series, it offers tactile and visual stimulation.

    March 09, 2009: This book is cute and my son enjoyed it initially but it is not one that we read over and over or all that often. Not much substance, unfortunately. Cute illustrations though.
