Biography

As a student at Columbia College, Earl Sewell studied both fiction and screenwriting and by the age of twenty he'd written several short stories and a screenplay. Throughout his college years he worked at his local library where he spent a large amount of his free time reading a variety of fiction and romance novels.

Shortly after college Sewell wrote his first novel but after querying publishers and receiving more than twenty rejection letters, Sewell abandoned the dream of becoming a published author.

Years later, after losing his mother to heart failure, Sewell gave writing another shot. He completed his second novel and decided to publish the book on his own. He launched his own publishing company called Katie Books, which he named in honor of his mother. His second effort was a hit with readers and Sewell began to gain a loyal following. Two years later he signed a publishing agreement with a major publishing house. Over the years he has written six novels and has had short stories published in three anthologies and several national romance magazines.

In addition to writing, Sewell has bicycled with a touring group from Red Wing, MN, to Bar Harbor, ME, and recently completed his third Chicago Marathon. He also volunteers as a motivational speaker, touring the country to speak to students about being an author, his life-long love of athletics as well as the power of a positive attitude. In his spare time Sewell enjoys restoring old furniture and gardening. He lives in South Holland, IL, where he is working on his next novel.
