Blair, Serena, Nate, Dan, and Vanessa went off to live their lives. Now they're coming home for the holidays.A lot can change in a few months . . . but some things never do. It finally happened: we went to college. We started over. No one knows who we've coveted, what we scored on the SATs,where our parents live, or when we became debaucherous. We've learned new things, made new friends, and maybe even met the loves of our lives. We've changed. Or at least, some of us have. But old habits are hard to break-especially when faced with your former besties and former flames. With everyone back in the city for the holidays, this break is guaranteed to be filled with makeups, breakups, and shakeups. Lucky for you, I'm here to report all the scandal as it happens. Let the games begin! You know you love me, xoxo Gossip Girl
Cecily von Ziegesar has always lived in New York City. She's already working on her next Gossip Girl: The Carlyles novel coming in May 2010, as well as her next It Girl, so be careful of what you do or say and who you're seen with...

January 22, 2010: I was very excited for this book because I would finally see who Nate chose.
The first section (first christmas break) was very good since I was excited to see that Nate had chosen Blair (Blair leaves her Yale boyfriend), but of course like in the rest of the series Serena messes everything up. Resulting to Blair and Nate breaking up.The second section (second christmas break) was to predictable, Nate and Serena hook up but Nate still loves Blair. Blair got back together with her Yale boyfriend, but they get into an argument and sort of breakup. Nate gets stoned and wrecks Blair's chances of ever getting back together with her yale boyfriend and tells Nate, that he brings trouble to her life. The third section (third christmas break) very confusing and not predictable at all. Chuck and Blair are now the perfect couple after dating (In England, Chuck went to Oxford after farm college and Blair studied aboard). They come back to the city and are good together. Dan submits a poem to the new yorker again called Serena. Serena reads it and contacts Dan, and they go out again. Nate and Jenny just happen to meet while visiting Brown for a college tour and start going out again. Serena, Dan, Jenny, and Nate get stuck in a snow storm and drive to Blair's dad's house in Rhode Island, just so being she, Chuck and her dad are there for christmas. The gang finally gets along, but Dan and Jenny are somewhat isolated because they were not really friends with anyone when the gang had a "do you remember?" conversation. Fourth and Final Section- somewhat predictable. Nate and Jenny become this very annoying couple with little sayings and nicknames like "meow meow". Blair sets up Tyler and Jenny and Jenny breaks up with Nate for him. Chuck and Blair break up because Blair was having mixed feelings when she and Chuck were moving into a Midtown apartment. They breakup and Chuck is heartbroken but soon goes back to the Chuck in high school. Serena and Dan breakup because Dan starts flirt-texting with Vanessa (who is engaged to some director who is never around and breaks up with him shortly). The Book ends how the last book ended Nate will finally choose between Serena and Blair. Just this time they go to Europe over the summer.I felt as this book was all the books together. All the major relationships were in the book and even the relationships were the readers wanted it to happen, but Cecily never wrote it were included. All in all I was disappointed about to closure and the book just a summary of all the books. Otherwise it is a fun read.Reader Rating:

November 05, 2009: I have read all the Gossip Girl books and was desperately waiting for this book to come out so I could finally find out who Nate picked: Serena or Nate.
Well that didn't happen. The book starts out with them all coming home for their first Christmas break and Nate and Blair get back together, but then Serena comes in to the picture and makes things complicated, so Nate and Blair break up AGAIN.Then in section 2 of the book they come home for their second Christmas break and Serena and Nate get together, but of course, Nate decides that he still loves Blair. So Serena and Nate break up but Blair decides that she doesn't want Nate anymore (but really she does)Then in section 3 of the book they come home for their 3rd Christmas break and it gets really confusing. Blair and Chuck are together, Serena and Dan are back together, and Jenny and Nate are back together. Then in the final section of the book, Blair and Chuck break up, Serena and Dan break up, and Jenny and Nate break up. The final scene in the book is Nate texting Serena and Blair and you think that he is finally going to make a decision but then Serena and Blair leave Nate and decide to go to Europe together.I liked this book a lot but I felt like it was the same story line that we have been reading in the last 11 books. I wanted Nate to finally pick somebody, but instead it ended like all the other books in the series.I would recommend reading this book but don't expect any kind of closure because there isn't any.The last two pages of the book made it seem like there was going to be another book so maybe they are trying to drag out the Serena, Blair, and Nate story line for a couple more books.
