November 29, 2006: Foonberg suggests using a charity to cold call clients as a way to 'reach the people you want to reach?' (p. 176-7) And yet, just one page prior, he advises his readers not to join social, civic, or charitable organizations solely to get clients because 'members will see through you, and you won't get anything from them.' In other words, make sure you hide your self-interest behind a facade of altruism. Given the preponderance of the mentality behind this type of advice, it is difficult to understand why we lawyers still can't figure out why people think we're just a bunch of snakes. But there's plenty more where that came from, if you want to spend the $69.95 tax.

June 21, 2004: This book is great!! It's rare to find a book that provides usefull information to all lawyers, and even more rare to find entertainment in reading a book on the practice of law. This book does it all. Even after 15 years in the profession, I found something new or useful on every page.
