    Synopsis

“Every war has turning points and every person too.”

Fifteen-year-old Daisy is sent from Manhattan to England to visit her aunt and cousins she’s never met: three boys near her age, and their little sister. Her aunt goes away on business soon after Daisy arrives. The next day bombs go off as London is attacked and occupied by an unnamed enemy.

As power fails, and systems fail, the farm becomes more isolated. Despite the war, it’s a kind of Eden, with no adults in charge and no rules, a place where Daisy’s uncanny bond with her cousins grows into something rare and extraordinary. But the war is everywhere, and Daisy and her cousins must lead each other into a world that is unknown in the scariest, most elemental way.

    A riveting and astonishing story.

August 27, 2009: This book is the best I've ever read. But everyone read it by a different way, I can't recomment to all. I write here for an information : from what movie is the trailer on the book's presentation page ? And i wonder if there will be an other movie about it. Please answer me, just say it in an other message if you know just one little thing, it's very important. Thanks very much

August 16, 2009: I being a lover of war fiction was very excited about this book. I got it and tryed reading it but couldnt get too far without getting bored. About a year later I tryed to give it another chance and did finish it. The book showed little about the war in my opinion. For the most part it is about 5 cousins living alone and occasionally engaging in insestious and lustful acts. The discription of these acts would have made me uncomfortable even if the kids werent related. But luckly it doesnt last too long. Aside from their relationship and the slow start I did like it. Im just not too sure anyone I know would feel the same way. So give it a chance if you can stomach it. It is pretty good.
