Erich von Däniken again shows his flair for revealing the truths that his contemporaries have missed. After closely analyzing hundreds of ancient and apparently unrelated texts, he is now ready to proclaim that human history is nothing like the world religions claim-and he has the proof!
In History Is Wrong, Erich von Däniken takes a closer look at the fascinating Voynich manuscript, which has defied all attempts at decryption since its discovery, and makes some intriguing revelations about the equally incredible Book of Enoch.
Von Däniken also unearths the astounding story of a lost subterranean labyrinth in Ecuador that is said to be home to an extensive library of thousands of gold panels. He supplies evidence that the metal library has links not only to the Book of Enoch but also to the Mormons, who have spent decades searching for it, believing it to contain the history of their forefathers.
And what about the mysterious lines in the desert of Nazca that resemble landing strips when viewed from the air? Archeologists claim they are ancient procession routes. "Think again!" cries von Däniken, as he reveals the data that the archeologists never even thought to check.
History Is Wrong will challenge your intellect...and maybe a few long-held beliefs. This is Erich von Däniken's best book in years!
Erich von Däniken was born in Zofingen, Switzerland, in 1935. His lifelong fascination withextraterrestrial visitors first found its expression in 1968 with the international best-seller Chariots of the Gods. His books have been translated into 28 different languages and have sold more than 63 million copies. In addition to his writing, he is an ever-present figure on the international lecture circuit, is regularly featured in documentaries and on TV, is the chairman of A.A.S. R.A. (Archaeology, Astronautics & SETI Research Association) and a regular contributor to its magazine, Legendary Times.

October 17, 2009: What a mess. A rambling diatribe that where the author whines about how badly he's been mistreated. Any interesting information in this book could be covered in 10 pages. Instead, you get a rambling whine session.

October 17, 2009: I've been a fan of Von Daniken for quite some time and I've enjoyed his intriquing ideas about astronaut theory... Like Chariots of the Gods and The Gods Were Astronauts... those are pretty cool. However, I didn't really get into History Is Wrong. It starts out interesting about the ellusive Metal Library that is said to exist in a cave. This part is pretty convincing, but soon after there are pages and pages of "Debunking the Debunkers" where Von Daniken redundantly explains how his critics have always been after him and how unfair it's all been. Frankly, his tattletailing on his foes, is not what I bought the book for. It kind of redeems itself at the end by talking about the mysterious Nazca Lines of Peru... but then again if you've read his other books, it's been said and done. I'd like to learn more of this metal library filled with writing and unexplicable artifacts, but his obvious anger towards the media got out of hand in the book.
