    Synopsis

Despite the snobbish sound of the title, the purpose of this book is instructive: to clear up the meanings and usage of some of the English language's most misused "big words," from "abecedarian" to "zucchetto." Don't know what they mean? Pick up this dictionary.

August 27, 2008: I bought this book a few months ago and have not regretted it. It tells you when to use one word as opposed to another, or when to avoid certain words, common mistakes people make with particular words, as well as what to avoid when using words. I have enjoyed reading as well as seeing what words I already knew and looking up words. If you are seriously considering it, buy it.

I highly reccomend this book!by Anonymous

March 09, 2006: I study words alot since I read alot of great literature and if you don't know the vocabulary of the period-persay Shakespeare-you will spend more time looking up words than you will reading.I have checked this book out at my library time and time again and this is a book that I will end up purchasing.
