June 11, 2009: When I first picked up this book I wasn't quite sure if it was hold my attention. I kinda figured I wouldn't even finish it, but when i picked it up today I could NOT put down. It has to be one of the sweetest books I have ever read. The main character, Lexie, is so easy to relate to and so is her situation.
Lexie is in love with her twin brother's best friend, Jake. She has known him for three years and ever since they met she has loved him, but always thought he was out of her league. Then the evil Bree decides she wants to be with Jake, but Jake doesn't want to be with her at all. Lexie's brother, Colin, comes up with the plan that Lexie will be Jake's "pretend girlfriend" until Bree finds someone else to crush on. In the process of "pretend dating" both Lexie and Jake experience feelings for each other they never expected. This is a great book for teen girls. It is not only a great love story, but it also tells how Lexie comes out of her shell and stops caring so much about "the popular kids". This is a must read. It was so completely sweet and adorable. I could not put it down. 5 STARS!!!!
