How do you wear your hair--braided with beads, blowing in the breeze, or short as short can be? In this lively look at locks, Virginia Kroll shows us that no matter how you wear it, hair is an important part of you. Full-color illustrations.
PreS-Gr 2-This concept book describes various hairstyles worn by children. While the story is original and represents various ethnic and cultural norms, the writing is in a choppy style reminiscent of ``Dick and Jane'' books. Many phrases rhyme but there is no story line or plot, and there is little that will hold the attention of young readers. The realistic paintings done in a portrait style are attractive, but they can't carry the mediocre text.-Marcia S. Rettig, South Buffalo Elementary School, Freeport, PA
