Synopsis

The book that took the world by storm....In his fifth year at Hogwart's, Harry faces challenges at every turn, from the dark threat of He-Who-Must-Not-Be- Named and the unreliability of the government of the magical world to the rise of Ron Weasley as the keeper of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. Along the way he learns about the strength of his friends, the fierceness of his enemies, and the meaning of sacrifice.

Annotation

When the government of the magic world and authorities at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry refuse to believe in the growing threat of a freshly revived Lord Voldemort, fifteen-year-old Harry Potter finds support from his loyal friends in facing the evil wizard and other new terrors.

The Washington Post

Go read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix for the other main reason to love the series: their sheer comic exuberance even in the midst of high drama. Kids, of course, would mention this first. Jokes, gags and memorable put-downs pop up on nearly every page … Sometimes it seems we adult critics are so quick to take Harry Potter seriously (whether we're looking to praise or censure) that we forget how cheerful Rowling has been throughout this whole amazing, death-haunted enterprise. — Elizabeth Ward

A Very Harry Series, Great Bookby Tennis

June 08, 2009: My name is Tyler Ennis, I'm 16 years old and I'm a sophomore at Holt High School in Michigan. I am writing this review for my English class, and the book I chose was Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. This is the fifth installment in the outstanding book series. The mastermind behind this series is J.K. Rowling. The reason

I decided to read this book is I had seen the movies but didn't know anything about the books, so for once I wanted to see how different the two were from each other.

Harry Potter is a wizard that is in his fifth year at Hogwarts. His best friends Ronald Weasley and Hermonie Granger are on his side again, but no one else will believe him or Dumbledore that Lord Voldemort is back. These are the main characters as well. After Professor Moody quit the Defense against the Dark Arts position, Hogwarts gets a new professor, Dolores Umbridge. After most people don't believe Harry that the Dark Lord is back, he has a meeting with all his friends that do. He teaches them what he knows about magic to try and fight the Dark Lord when he arrives. Will Harry succeed with his friends, or will his plan come to a fault?

If you have read Twilight, then you will like the Harry Potter series. It's a fantasy genre and the author describes a lot of detail and gives great visuals for the reader. I recommend people over 14 read this book, as this book is a little darker than the other books in the series. I would give this about 4 stars, and the reason being the author used a lot of detail and kept me in the book the whole entire time. There was action through the whole book.

Harry's worst enemy Lord Voldemort is stronger than ever and coming back for him once again. Is Harry ready for his battle? Or will he be too weak against his dark enemy? Another year at Hogwarts will tell the tale of Harry's fate

I Also Recommend: Eclipse, The Host, Twilight, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter #6), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter #7).

Very Goodby KomodoDragon

June 06, 2009: The book was very well written, if, however, a tad long. The action really picks up near the end with a series of wizard duals leading to a great confrontation between two poweful wizards. My only problem with the series thus far is that Rowling's villans (especially Draco, Crabb, and Goyle) have depth and speak like they should be twisting their evil mustaches as they hatch plans.
