Synopsis

It all comes down to this - a final face off between good and evil. You plan to pull out all the stops, but every time you solve one mystery, three more evolve. Do you stay the course you started, despite your lack of progress? Do you detour and follow a new lead that may not help? Do you listen to your instincts, or your friends?

Lord Voldemort is preparing for battle and so must Harry. With Ron and Hermione at his side, he's trying to hunt down Voldemort's Horcruxes, escape danger at every turn, and find a way to defeat evil once and for all. How does it all end?

Find out in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

The New York Times - Michiko Kakutani

J. K. Rowling's monumental, spellbinding epic, 10 years in the making, is deeply rooted in traditional literature and Hollywood sagas—from the Greek myths to Dickens and Tolkien to "Star Wars." And true to its roots, it ends not with modernist, "Soprano"-esque equivocation, but with good old-fashioned closure: a big-screen, heart-racing, bone-chilling confrontation and an epilogue that clearly lays out people's fates. Getting to the finish line is not seamless—the last part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh and final book in the series, has some lumpy passages of exposition and a couple of clunky detours—but the overall conclusion and its determination of the main characters' story lines possess a convincing inevitability that make some of the prepublication speculation seem curiously blinkered in retrospect.

July 01, 2009: I am not a big fan of "fantasy" books but, this is an amazing book. HP & TDH has the perfect mix of romance, action, saddness, and it keeps you hooked the whole time so you can never put it down!!

June 30, 2009: I have been a fan of Harry Potter ever since I saw the first movie. After I saw it, I knew I had to go get my hands on the books. The last piece of the Harry Potter series was perfect. J.K. Rowling knew exactly what she was doing. She tied up all of the loose ends and she had an answer for everything. Some may say that this book had too many deaths... I just want to let those people know that, if they hadn't noticed, they are in a WAR. With war, comes many deaths obviously. Anyways, this book kept me on the edge of my seat for most of the time I was reading it, and I know that this book gave me what felt like a real ending to a great series.
