    Synopsis

The eagerly anticipated sequel to the astounding smash hit Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is finally here! No need to wait — Harry's back for his second year at Hogwarts, where the infamous Chamber of Secrets has been opened for the first time in 50 years. The monster that is unleashed is literally petrifying Hogwarts students (turning them into stone, that is), and who is the primary suspect? Harry Potter himself. Add to this some enormous spiders, a Deathday Party, a ghost named Moaning Myrtle who haunts the girls' bathroom, and lots and lots of suspense, and you'll soon find yourself engrossed in another terrific tale in which magic does exist and good eventually triumphs over evil.

    Annotation

When the Chamber of Secrets is opened again at the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, second-year student Harry Potter finds himself in danger from a dark power that has once more been released on the school.

    Fantasy

Wizards, Warlocks, Ghosts, and Monsters. This is the life at Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Magic. The main character Harry Potter is a second year student that is looking forward to another great year, but it all turns sour when he and his friend Ron miss the train to Hogwarts. They eventually get there, but not after a detention and some bumps and bruises. Things get even worse as the year progress. A bludger in a Quidditch match gone wrong tries to kill him, a spooky death-day party is where the food is limitless, but moldy and unappetizing, and an ancient beast that was locked away in the hidden Chamber of Secrets is let loose through the halls of Hogwarts by the true heir of Salazer Slytherin. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a amazing thrill ride that could only be written by the fantastic author J.K. Rowling.

The main character in this amazing book is the main protagonist, Harry Potter. Harry is a twelve year-old boy that has lost almost everything to the evil lord Voldemort, but the strange thing is that Voldemort is the most powerful dark lord of all time and no one knows how a baby survived an attack and only came out with a lightning bolt scar on his forehead, while both his parents were killed. Harry has messy black hair that will not listen to a comb, Harry is the star Seeker on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Ron, Harry's best friend, has the bright red hair that is a trademark of the pure-blood wizard family, the Weasley's Ron also has blue eyes. He is the fifth-born member of a large family and all of them are, or have been, a Gryffindor in their years at Hogwarts. Ron can sometimes be clumsy or scatter-brained, but is always willing to help Harry out in his adventures. The last of the trio is the book-smart girl, Hermione Granger. Hermione is the smartest in her year, and has long brown hair, she was born into a muggle family, but is still able to succeed at Hogwarts. She has a strong conscience and that sometimes get into the way of stealing or not doing what she is told. Hermione is eager to learn and help Harry by using her bright magic skills. Harry and his friends are a very meaningful bond in this book.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a fantastic novel that has many twists and turns and you get that " I thought I had figured it out!" feeling when you are half way through the story. Harry Potter 2 is a very imaginative novel that is very original and could only come from the amazing author J.K Rowling. The book has brilliant word use, but it is still easy enough to understand from start to finish. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a book that everyone from 10 to 100 could enjoy that nobody can put down. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is an enchanting novel that will get you coming back for more each time!

October 27, 2009: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a very thrilling and exciting book. I have never been a fan of reading but once I picked up the first book of Harry Potter I could not set it down. This book is very cool with all the wizards and warlocks. The Chamber of Secrets is a action book and even if you are just looking for something to read this is the book for you. Now this book starts out by telling what Harry did during the summer at the Durslys house. It finally got on to talk about Hogwarts Witch Craft and Wizardry, the school that Harry and his friends attended. There is a house elf called Dubey, who ended up in Harry's room. Dubey said not to go back to Hogwarts because something bad was going to happen. After being broken out by Ron and his brothers, Harry got to school with Ron and Herminie by his side. Then people started getting petrified by this mystery monster witch nether the teachers or students know. Word got wind and that the Chamber of Secrets has been opened again, and Malfoy is the lead suspect, in Harry's mind. So Harry, Ron, and Herminie had to clone themselves to go into the Slytheran dorm to interrogate Malfoy. They also have to go and visit a friend of Hagrids in the forbidden forest. This is one of the best books that I have ever read and I strongly recommend in just reading the first two chapters and you will not want to stop.
