Set in the late Victorian era, the story moves the reader from a tiny island of the coast of Britain to the jungles of New Zealand. The twists and adventures that their lives take, and the horrible mistake the boy makes as a man, teach them all the true meaning of love. 'A threefold chord shall not be broken.' This book was originally published in 1944. I read it as a young girl when a copy was given me by my great-grandmother. Loved it then, still love it 40 years later. A great read for a young girl. Am definitely going to order a copy for my nieces. So glad to see it back in print. Thank You!
