    Booknews

The British Gray's is a colorful, stylishly illustrated version of the classic anatomy reference with commentary and essays by specialists in their fields, and at nearly twice the price of the American edition one would expect no less. This current edition features the conventional divisions of study with numerous classification changes, including new sections on surface anatomy and neonatal anatomy. Much of the information provided reflects the tremendous changes and advances in molecular biology and imaging which have occurred since 1989. Includes photographs as well as diagrams and drawings. November 21, 2009: I am not a physician, but I am afflicted with many neurological defects from birth. This text has allowed me to have conversations with my neurosurgeon at his level. If you are seriously considering any field that involves detailed knowledge of the basic workings of human physiology, you must read this text first. Be prepared to buy a second copy for reference once you have devoured your first as a learning tool. My first copy is completely coming apart. That is a GOOD thing! This text should not be one of those used for "SHOW."
