June 01, 2003: I only wish my Dad could have given me the knowledge that the book 'Grandfather' gave to me (now at the age of 62) 50 years ago. I only regret that copies of this book are so hard to find. I would so love to give it to my Grandsons to read & learn the reality of what true hunting is & can be in a young mans life, for there are so many lessons to be learned from Mr. Brown, that really relate to our present day trouble with parents & grandparents trying to guide our young men along life's path. I just want to thank Field & Stream for printing the article in their mag. I wish him the best for the things he's overcome. I am a disabled Viet Nam Vet. & know how hard it is at times. Mr. Brown, you keep up the good work, for you will never know in your life time, just how many young men you & your books have sparked that fire, deep inside of them. Knowledge is aquired, and your books create the interest, to aquire that knowledge. After all Hunting is a great family traditation, and you have the way of telling us all, just how to do it, with taste and the true reason, man has done it, for years, for all the right reasons. I only hope you get this note, Respectfully, Ben H. DuBois, 263 Dr. Pittman Rd., Uvalda, Ga. 30473-----a true hunter & Ga. Redneck !
