Biography

Dr. Benjamin Carson is a professor of neurosurgery, plastic surgery, oncology, and pediatrics, and the director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. He is also the author of three other bestselling books--Gifted Hands, Think Big, and The Big Picture. He serves on the corporate boards of the Kellogg Company, Costco Wholesale Corp., and American's Promise, among others, and is an Emeritus Fellow of the Yale Corporation. He and his wife, Candy, are the parents of three grown sons and live in Baltimore County, Maryland.

Cecil Murphey, author of over forty books, has also assisted well-known personalities in writing their biographies.

April 13, 2009: Oh my goodness!!!! Where can I start? This book was truly amzing and inspirational. I absolutely loved it! Dr. Ben Carson's story is truly incredible. He grew up without much, and was teased a lot as a child, but he still managed to keep his head up, stay at the top of his class, and eventually, he followed his dream, and became one of the world's top neurosurgeons. I admire him so much. I would recommend this book to EVERYONE. It's for people of all ages, and this book will truly touch you and possibly change the way you see things and people. Please read this book!

April 07, 2009: I felt that this book was very inspirational, that despite many obstacles this man was able to overcome them and become a wonderful physician that is able to help many people especially children.

I Also Recommend: Three Cups of Tea.
