The advent of digital production requires graphic designers to be much more involved with the physical processes of the digital pre- press, including image calibration, dot gain, use of color key, screen clash, and trapping, in order to minimize errors in the final print. Freelance designer Gatter explains these and other issues in a manner "that provides an overview of the entire printing process, from error-free digital creation right through to commercial printing." April 06, 2009: This is the perfect book if you need to send something to the printer and need some background into possible problems and how to avoid the problems before you send something to the printer.
I never heard of a GCR problem until it was a problem. Although, I don't like the way it was explained at least there was a book that covered the issue. I have looking for a book like this for awhile. The only negative to the book, is that that it's tough to keep it being from being dated when it covers computer programs. Highly recommend reading and understanding it.
