Synopsis

Dear Reader:

There’s a whole lot of trouble going on in Beaumont, South Carolina. According to resident psychic-slash-astrologer, Destiny Moultrie, Mercury’s in retrograde; Venus is in the seventh house, and the combination has turned Cupid wacko! Chaos rules as tempers flare and lust runs rampant. Newlyweds Max Holt and Jamie Swift-Holt are trying to make a baby, but their recently purchased antebellum mansion is under renovation and filled with feuding contractors. Vera has a crush on her new mailman, and is bent on looking ten years younger. Destiny is marked for marriage by the changing planets, and she’s running for her life as the local redneck and bait shop owner is determined to make her his. Meanwhile, local pediatrician Maggie Davenport has considerably bigger problems now that her wild-girl past has caught up in the form of ex-boyfriend and jailbird who just flew the coop—and is determined to track her and her daughter down. If he doesn’t expose her secrets, there’s a good chance Jamie’s editor, intent on getting the Full Scoop, will. Fortunately, FBI agent Zack Madden is on hand for protection; but the new danger is the wild attraction he and Maggie share. Fleas the hound dog is experiencing his first crush on Maggie’s adorable and alluring…um…pygmy goat? Add to that an Elvis convention and a local root doctor and hoodoo practitioner who decides it’s time she take charge; only to have one of her spells backfire, and you’ve got a gut-busting, laugh-out-loud story we hope you won’t forget!

It’s just another wild ride in the town we love to write about, and thecharacter’s we can’t get enough of. So kick off your shoes, sit back, and enjoy a FULL SCOOP of fun, adventure, and romance.

“The Jamie Swift and Max Holt series moves to a new level…as always, the dialogue and events are outrageous, wacky, and just plain fun.”

Library Journal

Full Scoop is the sixth book in the "Full" series set in Beaumont, SC, by the prolific and always popular Evanovich and coauthor Hughes. Convicted murderer Carl Lee Stanton has escaped from prison and is on his way back to Beaumont to retrieve his stash of stolen money, putting local pediatrician Maggie Davenport, his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his 13-year-old daughter, in danger. FBI agent Zack Madden arrives to protect them, and an immediate and serious romance develops between Zack and Maggie. To add to the general confusion, there is a convention of Elvis impersonators in town. Many of the characters from other "Full" titles have roles here: Max Holt and Jamie are newly wed and trying to have a baby, and Fleas the dog has a crush on a pygmy goat. Suspense builds as we follow Carl Lee on his convoluted trip to Beaumont and see the impact of his arrival. Of course, there is the prerequisite happy ending and no doubt more to follow in this popular series. Lorelei King has become very proficient with the characters and is a skilled reader. Recommended for public libraries with their many Evanovich fans. Mary Knapp, Madison P.L., WI Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.

Biography

Over a decade ago, Janet Evanovich tossed aside a career as a romantic novelist in favor of a wacky world populated by thugs, crooks, hookers, and a certain sexy little bounty hunter named Stephanie Plum… and the world of modern mystery fiction hasn’t been the same since.

June 08, 2006: I don't think there is such a thing as a badly written Evanovich book. I have read all the Stephanie Plum books, and in this series I have read Full House, Full Bloom, and Full Scoop. Even though I didn't read them in order, these books are still easy to follow and hilariously funny. I am looking forward to finishing this wonderful series.

May 22, 2006: Beaumont, South Carolina is a hot spot again - boiling and bubbling with romance, comedy, and mayhem. Is it something in the air, something in the water? No, simply the combined talents of Evanovich and Hughes who put their imaginations, wits, and abilities to write crackling dialogue to work and, presto - Full Scoop. A bit zany? Yes. But thoroughly entertaining. What eye candy is for the orbs, this book is brain candy for the mind. Nothing deep, nothing disturbing, just mischief enough to entertain. Lorelei King delivers the narrative with charm and a voice that makes for mighty pleasant listening. Many will remember recently married Max Holt and Jamie-Swift Holt. They?d very much like to produce an heir or heiress but there?s little privacy in their antebellum mansion which has workmen all but hanging from the ceilings. However, rather than a Max and Jamie story this plot primarily concerns Maggie Davenport, a pediatrician with problems. A former boyfriend of Maggie?s has just escaped from jail and pops back into her life after over a dozen years. There?s quite a bit about her past that Maggie doesn?t want everyone to know, but what to do? Help is on the way with the entrance of FBI agent Zack Madden. Of course, there are a few secondary plots adding to the potpourri of goings-on in Beaumont, even the romantic yearnings of a hound dog called Fleas. Relax and listen - you can?t help but smile. - Gail Cooke
