(Hardcover - Large Prin)
"Detective Alex Cross is on his way to resign from the Washington, D.C., Police Force when his partner shows up at his door with a case he can't refuse. One of John Sampson's oldest friends, from their days together in Vietnam, has been arrested for murder. Worse yet, he is subject to the iron hand of the United States Army. The evidence against him is strong enough to send him to the gas chamber." "Sampson is certain his friend has been framed, and Alex's investigation turns up evidence overlooked - or concealed - by the military authorities. Drawing on their years of street training and an almost telepathic mutual trust, Cross and Sampson go deep behind military lines to confront the most ruthless - and deadliest - killers they have ever encountered. Behind these three highly skilled killing machines there appears to be an even more threatening controller. Discovering the identity of this lethal genius will prove to be Cross's most terrifying challenge ever." On his visits home, Alex must confront another, more disturbing mystery: what's the matter with Nana Mama? As he explores the possibility of a relationship with a woman who offers him new hope, Alex must also face the fact that his beloved grandmother is only human.
James Patterson's Four Blind Mice is about the pain, the panic and, in due course, the carnage inflicted in a series of bizarre attacks that spill a lot of blood and hand out dire punishment for no apparent reason. To avenge a friend framed in one of these crazy setups, two Washington, D.C., police detectives go hunting for the hellhounds who mount the string of inexplicable crimes. It turns out that the fantastical deceivers have military experience; the torments they inflict and the blood they shed are payoffs for atrocities that have been covered up since Vietnam War days. — Eugen Weber
More Reviews and RecommendationsNot making any bones about his bid for success, James Patterson once declared he wanted to be known as “the king of the page-turners.” While that may seem like a pretty grand ambition, Patterson is as worthy of that title as any author working today.

November 06, 2008: A Masterpiece no doubt. Instant classic i would also say. Four Blind Mice was a mix of Mystery, Suspense, Romance, and Heroism. In this book James Patterson led the audience on and on to the point where I was on the edge of my seat. The way he wrote this could'nt of been any better. Everything in the story was perfect. It had the right amount of action and not to mention the dialogue was FANTASTIC! Alex Cross and John Sampson clearly displayed their comical and serious sides of ther personalities in FOUR BLIND MICE. The story goes back and forth from Wahington D.C to North Carolina. Three ex-military assasins turned assasins for hire have been given targets to set up innocent well credibal retired military men. Cross starts to investigate one of the men who had been set up beacuse he was an old army buddy of Sampson and soon finds out it gets a whole lot deeper than just that one case. He fears something much larger is behind all of this. Unfortunetly he is correct. He soon finds out that even the city prosecutor is in on it and it doesn't stop their, it turns out that the assasins(three blind mice) have been commiting atrocities since the vietnam war. But the main question is who is the fourth blind mice and why is he giving these orders to set up these modest humble men. Cross later finds out that all of the men set up had done something atrocious, whether it had been 30 years earlier or the week before so the fourth blind mice(The Wolf) had been paying for them to been murdered. The climax of the story is when Cross and Sampson overcome resilient obstacles and make it out alive in a blazing gun battle with the three blind mice. The story ends with Cross excepting a posistion at the FBI and the Wolf elusively sneeking back into the dark not to be found at all. Once again this book kept me guessing and guessing. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who loves Murder/Mystery but i will say if you have a week stomach you should hold back because and points in the story it tends to get a little graphic but just the right amount I concur. Cuddos to James Patterson for this one, Seriously!

March 20, 2005: It was a good novel, yet some points were kind of going on and on. Patterson is a master of suspense, which really can't be said a whole lot with this book.
