Good. You understand now.
I’m not your beloved anymore. I’m Unclean -- foul, and a slave to creatures fouler still.
Please . . . please . . . destroy me if you can.
The realm of Thay has long been ruled by the uneasy peace of an alliance of wizards, but all along there has been one who believes he is the true master. And when that one wizard finally moves against his former allies, his homeland could be only the first of his conquests.

March 12, 2009: This series was remarkable. Dark, gritty and full of incredibly vivid depictions of Thay, the Red Wizards, demons and necromancy. The characters are completely believable (insofar as a Forgotten Realms characters can be) and convincingly flawed. Something, I think, that many "heroes" in the genre are lacking. This books hooks fast and hard -- the pace ebbs and flows, but always pulls you onrward. It was grueling to have to wait for each subsequent release, but it was so very worth the wait.

January 20, 2009: Overall one of the better series that I have read in a while. The author creates a exceptionally good view of the world in which it takes place which I take particular liking to. I can't wait to get my hands on the next one.
I Also Recommend: The Blade Itself (First Law Series #1), Before They are Hanged (The First Law Series #2), Last Argument of Kings (First Law Series #3).
