September 18, 2009: The B&N listing says that this is the 2010 edition, but since that is not due out for several months, buyers in 2009 will probably get the 2006 edition. I have no idea what changes the next edition will have (probably mostly restaurant updates?), but travelers to New York should not shy away from the 2006 edition. This series is excellent in describing neighborhoods, architectural and city history, and attractions. I'm a New Yorker again and still appreciating this book. The illustrations are wonderful, the great glory of the series. The series always includes practical info for travelers; my experience with the London, San Francisco, and Dublin DK books is that no other guide is needed.

May 03, 2009: A must have if you are visiting New York for the very first time. Easy to understand, organized, and very informative. I was able to get around easily and see everything I had hoped to visit in a limited amount of time.
