August 22, 2009: A very heavy book for a paperback. A friend recommended it and I enjoyed the photos and diagrams of castles, etc. I had purchased Friendly Planet series book on a relatives recommendation but did not take it to Ireland because it seemed overwhelming and I did not know our itinerary. Another person on the trip had Rick Steve's guide and I will look for that series next time I travel for pleasure.
My brother-in-law, a native Dubliner, loved this book, however. So it just depends on what kind of guide you are looking for. Get a cup of coffee and take time to look over several guide books before buying one.Reader Rating:

June 07, 2009: These books are always the best. Eye candy for the soul. If you can't go there, you can at least get an Eyewitness travel guide. I always travel with an Eyewitness book and Rick Steves when they are both available.
