Synopsis

Educators will find in these pages a number of helpful strategies for using literature, multimedia, and literacy events to support not only the language arts, but also student choice, cooperative learning, and critical thinking—-processes that promote key values such as compassion, human decency, caring, sharing, and respect. Chapter topics include multicultural literature and family stories, critical media literacy and values, technology and values, and schoolwide approaches for teaching values through literature and multimedia.
