    September 11, 2009: The MCAT is a critical reasoning test. This book corresponds really well to the Examcracker's review books for the MCAT by subject.

    The 1001 Questions is very detailed and has plenty of non passage questions and also occassionally the book presents a situation) and a series of questions following it that are tied together.

    The explanations aren't indepth (usually one liner) however they are succinct and there are a few errors (but only a very small percentage) The explanations though short are sufficient enough to understand how to approach the question in a quick and easy fashion. (which is important when you are under a time crunch)

    Generally spend less than a minute on these questions because that's how much time you will have on the test to approach non passage related questions.

    Don't buy this book within a month of your test because by this time you should be taking actual tests and actual mock exams.

    It doesn't include passages however it is good to reinforce content review and it tests analytical skills with Physics.

    They are MCAT style questions however they are individual rather than passage based.

    If you plan on studying a year or year and a half in advance you should definitely get this book and try and complete the book. If you can complete this book and learn all these concepts your physics background will be extremely solid.

    However make sure to review questions you missed. A good strategy is too first focus on stuff you are weak on. Generally light and optics, sound and waves, fluid and solids. Generally intro physics classes don't cover this in depth.

    The most important thing is that the physics explanations produce hints and tips on how to solve problems quickly. In physics class you generally learn the long way to solve a problem. However it's not good for the MCAT. When studying for the MCAT think efficiency rather than detail oriented solutions.
