      Synopsis

For fans of P.C. Cast and Stephenie Meyer, a paranormal young adult novel about a psychic girl who falls in love with an immortal boy.

      VOYA

Ever, trying to drown out her new psychic powers by listening to loud music and covering herself with hooded sweatshirts and sunglasses, feels a sudden and overwhelming connection to Damen, the too-good-to-be true new guy at school. Unlike the other people she has encountered since the accident she somehow survived, she cannot see his aura or hear his thoughts. It is clear from the start that something is not quite normal with Damen. He does not seem to eat or sleep, conjures flowers, has the uncanny ability to seem to know what Ever is thinking, and has knowledge far beyond his seventeen years. Beautiful and cruel Drina seems determined to make to Ever suffer. Drina, Damen, and Ever share a long history as their lives have been entwined for hundreds of years. This first novel in the Immortals series will appeal to fans of the Twilight books by Stephenie Meyer, and in fact, seems heavily inspired by it. Although here the beings are immortal, the partial explanation of what that entails is revealed in the closing chapters of the book, which poke a healthy amount of fun at the idea of vampires existing. Ever is ultimately a likeable character as she heals and learns to forgive herself for the accident that killed the rest of her family and let go of her dead younger sister, Riley, who has been a companion to Ever throughout the book. She also falls head over heels in love during the process. Reviewer: Erin Wyatt

      Similar to Twilight.....by Claradonna

November 20, 2009: I was a little hesitant to read this as the reviews showed it was so similar to Twilight and it wasn't fun to read. I found that even though it was very similar to Twilight so are all the vampire series.

New guy enrolls himself in a new school to know exactly which girl he wants already even though all the girls are all over him and would love to date him)This one is a little different because she too has psychic abilities and in this story she is the one that can't read only his thoughts. This story is very romantic and very thrilling as they go back and forth because she is not sure she can be with him because of all that has happened ever since he walked into her life.

Wouldn't read the next one!by Anonymous

November 15, 2009: Although I liked the story line, I felt the book was terribly written. The tense was bizaar, to say the least. Although I could get a feel for some of the characters, I got the impression that they were somewhat bland. I usually can't read a book in a series without reading the rest of the series, but with Evermore, I have sworn to never touch any of the books from this series. It was almost aggrivating to read. I was dissappointed.
