October 29, 2008: This is one of a handful of novels that had a profound influence on me. I was a sophomore in college when I read it, and then embarked on studies in Jewish American history because I was so moved by the characters and their stories. Plain is a master at the art of sagas.

July 24, 2005: Evergreen is the greatest LOVE Story ever written. I have read the book many times and I can enjoy it over and over again. It would be nice to have a sequel. This is the one book I recommend to all my friends to read.
