I read this book over the summer, so I'm a little late on me review. This book took me about four weeks to read. Although the book isn't all too long, it required more studying that books you may be used to. John Locke has remained on my top five favorite philosphers, however, I feel he has always had trouble with clarity. He uses many examples in this book to illustrate "simple ideas" and "complex...

Another book I read while getting my BA in Philosophy at UCLA. The most interesting thing about this work of Locke's is that we also have Leibnitz's New Essays, which discusses it point by point. As far as I know this is a unique situation among the extant works of the classic thinkers.

Synopsis

Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.
