In Elephants Cannot Dance! Piggie tries to teach Gerald some new moves. But will Gerald teach Piggie something even more important?
In this humorous outing, Gerald the elephant and Piggie debate whether or not "elephants can dance." Gerald, who is convinced that he cannot (he tells Piggie to look it up in the "What Elephants Can Do" book) decides to give it a go nonetheless. Results are mixed, with Gerald basically doing the opposite of each instruction. Willems's characteristically sparse cartoon images and the use of speech balloons portray the comical dilemma with clarity, making it an ideal pick for early readers. September 06, 2009: Mo Willems uses animals to make apoint in all fo his books. Mo's done it again, and this time, it's an elephant that shows the way. It's not so much that elephants cannot dance as elephants usually don't dance becuase they do not try. For children, it's good to point out to them that they can do anything they want to, if they put their heart, soul, and nmid to it. Another winner in a very long line of boks for Mr. Willems. Go Mo!

June 23, 2009: My granddaughter love this series; however, this book did not have a very interesting story. It was disappointing.
