Edward’s soft voice came from behind me.
I turned to see him spring lightly up the porch steps, his hair windblown from running. He pulled me into his arms at once, just like he had in the parking lot, and kissed me again. This kiss frightened me. There was too much tension, too strong an edge to the way his lips crushed mine–like he was afraid we had only so much time left to us.
As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob–knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death. But which is which?
The legions of readers who are hooked on the romantic struggles of Bella and the vampire Edward will ecstatically devour this third installment of the story begun in Twilight, but it's unlikely to win over any newcomers. Jake, the werewolf met in New Moon, pursues Bella with renewed vigilance. However, when repercussions from an episode in Twilightplace Bella in the mortal danger that series fans have come to expect, Jake and Edward forge an uneasy alliance. The plot patterns have begun to show here, but Meyer's other strengths remain intact. The supernatural elements accentuate the ordinary human dramas of growing up. Jake and Edward's competition for Bella feels particularly authentic, especially in their apparent desire to best each other as much as to win Bella. Once again the author presents teenage love as an almost inhuman force: "[He] would have been my soul mate still," says Bella, "if his claim had not been overshadowed by something stronger, something so strong that it could not exist in a rational world." According to Meyer, the fourth book should tie up at least the Edward story, if not the whole shebang. Ages 12-up. (Aug.)

December 02, 2009: I admit, it moved along. Now I want to go out and buy the last book. Even if I do want to slap Bella and Jacob both. Ah, Edward...

December 02, 2009: Eclipse is the third book in the twilight sequel. Out of the three I would rank it as second best. All of these books are very well written, but in this particular book, there were some very slow parts. Those slow parts included the stories that were coming from the wolf pack. They were all sitting around the fire telling their origin, I could not bring myself to get fully interested in this. It was very long and boring in my opinion. However, the book was very good for the most part. I love the plot of the whole story. It is very interesting and keeps your attention. I wanted to know what was going to happen next. The romance and feelings between Edward and Bella are simply indescribable. Whenever I would read about their relationship in this book it would make me feel how Bella feels. It makes me want my own vampire boyfriend. This book also writes about the setting very well. The way the author describes everything that is going on, and how everything looks makes me feel like I am actually there watching everything as the plot unfolds. When reading this book I loved how the author went into detail on everything that was happening. The action in this book really kept you on your toes. It makes you think that if you were in Edwards', Bellas', Jaspers' or any other of the characters that you could experience what they are going through, what they are feeling. There were other mini stories inside this story as well; ones that I found were not as boring. For one: Jasper's story. During his story pieces of the puzzle were beginning to go together. Everything that seemed like a mystery in the first two books and part of this book are much clearer now. The detail and excitement of this story was incredible. Another story was Rose's. Her story was just as exciting. At first Bella does not think that Rose likes her at all. However, when rose starts telling her story, this also becomes a lot clearer. Rose's story, just like Jasper's, was exciting. All in all, this book is a good book, and I would recommend it if you like stories about vampires and wolves.
