Since my childhood, I have been interested in other countries, the life style of people in these countries, their languages and cultures. I like learning new languages but Swahili has a special place in my heart. I heard about Swahili at Middle East Technical University for the first time when I started my Undergraduate Education in the field of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. This university with its high standards of education and diversity of foreign students, their languages and cultures gave me a great chance to meet the students from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and as I got to know these people, a huge will to learn their language (Swahili) was born in my heart. Then one of my close friends from Kenya, Humphrey Mudoga Lumadede, agreed to teach me Swahili by giving courses at the weekends and I practised the language with my other Swahili speaking friends at the University.

I decided to buy this book after having made a considerable search, because there are many books available but most of them are just useless. However this Swahili grammar book uses an effective method to teach Swahili which makes learning the language both easy and enjoyable. Believe me, you won't regret it!!
