Game, Set, Match... Dylan? Dylan and her TV-host mom are off to Hawaii's Aloha Tennis Open. While Merri-Lee interviews tennis's wild child Svetlana "Tennis the Menace" Slootskyia, Dylan lets the tropical sun melt away the memory of getting dumped by two guys at the end of seventh grade. But between avocado mud masks and poolside naps, she falls in love with a preppy, tennis- obsessed hawtie. Dylan soon realizes the only way to score a date with him is to master the game. Can she convince moody Svetlana to spill the secrets of her tennis success, or will she end up oh-for-three in summer love?
In the second book of "The Clique Summer Collection," Dylan is not to please to be spending the summer at Hawaii's Aloha Tennis Open while her TV-host mother interviews tennis star, Svetlana Slootskyia. Dylan intends to spend the summer soaking up rays by the pool and ignoring everything tennis, but after meeting J.T., a hot boy obsessed with tennis, Dylan quickly changes her tune. Dylan's only hope to win over J.T. is if she can persuade Svetlana into making Dylan a tennis expert in just a few weeks. Will Dylan succeed, or remain loveless for the summer? Harrison's soap opera plot, filled with intrigue, blackmail, and surprise twists, is bound to entertain some pre-teen girls, especially if they are already fans of the series. Keeping with the soap opera theme, all the characters, including Dylan, are cardboard cut-outs and immensely shallow. Some readers will find this, and Dylan's self-obsessed and spoiled brat personality, annoying, particularly if they are not into reading stories about trust-fund babies. Reviewer: Melissa Joy Adams

August 04, 2009: i usually don't read books like the clique. i'm more into action, mystery, and fantasy. but to my suprise, i ended up enjoying this series. its all about Massie Block, Alicia Rivera, Dylan Marvil, Kristen Gregory, and claire lyons. they are the pretty committee and they rule the school. its full of backstabbing and gossip and new words like LBR (loser beyond repair) and ah-mazing and ehmagawd and Ah-bviously. i recommend this series because lisi harrison is an ah-mazing author. if you liked this i also recommend hottie, bras and broomsticks, how to ditch your fairy, airhead, and violet on the runway.
