The next installment in the bold and sexy series by the fearless New York Times bestselling author.
Sleeping with Strangers and Waking with Enemies "[left] Dickey fans wanting more"(Ebony). Now, with Dying for Revenge, he returns to that adrenaline- fueled underworld.
Gideon, a professional assassin, is convinced that an old score with a former client from Detroit was settled a long time ago. But the lady from Detroit has never forgotten-or forgiven-Gideon, and with a crack team of hit-men, she's not letting him out of her sight. Now, Gideon's on the run again, embarking on a global chase that takes him from London to Nashville, and back to the Caribbean where those on both sides of this battle are dying for revenge.
The third entry of bestselling Dickey's Gideon trilogy (after Waking with Enemies) offers intrigue, deception, murder and sex in exotic locales with a noir sensibility and keen attention to setting. While on vacation in Antigua, assassin Gideon is under the mistaken belief that an old beef with a client, known as Detroit, is over and done with. That's when he discovers teams of hired assassins are after him, seeking to punish him for bad business and, worse, for threatening Detroit's children. On the run, Gideon flees to the U.K. while secreting the only family he knows, "the kid," as far from their enemies as possible. As killers pursue Gideon through London, Nashville, Atlanta and countless Caribbean beaches, Dickey's detailed location descriptions give his over-the-top violence and sex a vivid, realistic grounding. Murder, double-dealing, seduction, love and some unforeseen twists fill out the action, which hits only a few potholes. Though it could have been shorter, this is another highly entertaining page-turner from the veteran author. (Nov.)

More Reviews and RecommendationsBack in 1996, former software engineer writer Eric Jerome Dickey quit his day job as a substitute teacher after the success of his first novel, Sister, Sister. With the sexy, savvy flow of African-American-themed bestsellers that followed, it's pretty safe to say Dickey won't have to go back to the classroom.

November 11, 2009: What more can i say other than Gideon is back and he is not going down easy. I traditionally do not read books by black authors but I have become intertwined with EJD and cant seem to put this series down. Of course the books is like most black novels there is always a steamy sex scene and vulgar language. But the plot and chararcters cest to amaze me. i recommend reading the series and cant wait to finish the resurrection of midnight.

November 05, 2009: I've have to say that this book is so good. But the ending part was a little scray becuse Gideon wounld have killed Matthew & of course his girlfirend was cry to get Matthew back. Gideon was all over the place because he's a killer to S.W.S & W.W.E. & also the most part when he contines to be a killer he needs to killer more ppl than I thought it counld be.
I Also Recommend: Sleeping with Strangers (Gideon Series #1), Waking with Enemies (Gideon Series #2).
