February 05, 2008: This book is fantastic. I have two daughters adopted from China. I have used this book to teach Chinese New year for 4 years now. I have used it in nursery school, kindergarten and this year, first grade. We act out each page of the book. For example, we set up 3 stations in the room to go shop for plum blossoms, oranges and 'fish' (Pepperidge farm goldfish). We have them make believe they are sweeping their house, we have each child receive a Chinese red envelope, etc.. Each page is acted out. Then, we make paper lanterns and have a parade while playing Chinese music. The children have sooo much fun!! I have had several friends buy the book and do the same thing. A definite must have Chinese New Year book for little ones.
