There are what, about a zillion diets in print and even more cookbooks? So why would you want to pay the price of another book touting a diet and offering new recipes? Well, without trying out the diet or the recipes, this reviewer thinks they sound at least ? doable! So many diets are fad diets, which cause side effects from their restrictions. My own experience with several popular diets has brought on nausea, dizziness and very little weight loss results. What does work is good old common sense eating which offers a variety of nutritious and healthy foods. Dr. Gott?s, No Flour, No Sugar Cookbook and diet seems to fall in the category of healthy and nutritious.
Frankly, in all my years of dieting, I had somehow missed Dr. Gott?s No Flour, No Sugar Diet. I was amazed when I read a summary of the diet and then read the cookbook that the recipes sounded so good. Instead of flour, he uses oatmeal and instead of sugar, he suggests a variety of alternatives to refined sugar. Fruits and veggies are the main foods in this work. The nice thing about this diet is there is really no calorie counting, carb counts, etc. Just eliminate sugar and flour from your diet and Dr. Gott suggests you will see weight loss. Now, I am no doctor or nutritionist, but it does make sense to me that cutting these two elements from your diet would encourage weight loss.
Of course, Dr. Gott suggests that a person must use good judgment in the amounts you consume. That would seem good accompanying advice to any diet. Portion control is a definite must.
If you are tired of the diet you are currently using, looking for a new diet or even think you might need to lose a couple of pounds, this concept sounds like it would rival Weight Watchers. You will at the very least be eating a more natural, nutritious and satisfying diet that offers a potential weight loss.
