October 04, 2009: exam. The ratio-proportion approach is a solid one because it provides the tools to solve any dosage calculation rather than an approach that teaches a rule for every type of problem. The examples are based on clinical situations and include using syringes, dosage cups, IV drips etc. There are plenty of practice problems with solutions in the back of the text. I think it's a solid text, especially for those familiar with the concepts of ration/proportion/unit cancellation. It is a bit pricey for a paperback that arrived with the wimpy cover already curling but textbooks aren't made the way they used to be.
