This being my third Disney biography, i must say i was boderline apalled. The book had some good insight and info, but overll it seemed that the author had an almost personal vendetta against Walt. He didn't seem to ever give Walt the benefit of the doubt. I know Walt Disney had flaws, but the author could've used some more tact in his explanation of them. Again, pretty decent read, just a little harsh...

Great book for kids , And adults.by Anonymous

Leonard Mosley has done a wonderful job by accurately documenting Walt Disney's life. Most of us do not want to disrupt the memories that we have of a true American legend. Mosley has done an excellent job portraying Disney....

Synopsis

Documents the stunning accomplishments of Disney's imaginative genius. It is not a flattering portrait. Library Journal

Publishers Weekly

In this absorbing biography of the man who revolutionized the animated cartoon and whose theme parks still lure millions of visitors annually, Mosley (Lindbergh, Dulles, Marshall) does a superb job of recreating the saga of a talented Midwesterner who struggled to the top of his profession and, once there, ruled his studio with benevolent paternalism, yet never allowed others to share screen credits despite their contributions and abused his co-workers when the mood was on him. Although employees' salaries were low, Disney was shattered when his staff went on strike, and he turned into a bitter, anti-labor Red-baiter. But in his work he maintained integrity and invariably fought for the highest standards, even teetering on the brink financially to ensure excellence. Photos. December
