    Synopsis

The classic techno-thriller of superpower espionage from New York Times bestselling master of suspense Stuart Woods!

Sifting through reams of seemingly unrelated intelligence, CIA analyst Katherine Rule discovers a chilling pattern: an ultrasecret Baltic submarine base...a crafty Russian spy-master in command...a carefully planned invasion about to be launched from dark waters.

Her suspicions, however, are dismissed by those higher up; her theory, they say, is too crazy to be true. But to Katherine, it's just crazy enough to succeed--unless she can stop it. If she's right, an attack sub has already penetrated friendly waters. Worse yet, the enemy has penetrated deep into her own life, so deep she can touch him. And in this game, one wrong touch can mean Armageddon.

    Annotation

Stuart Woods, the Edgar Award-winning author of Chiefs, "combines the hottest elements in thrillers these days--Soviet submarines, spies and sex--to create one of the most readable espionage novels since The Hunt for Red October" (Atlanta Journal/Constitution).

    Richard Condon

    An amazingly original thriller!

Customer Rating for this product is 5 out of 5 A great Cold War story.

Deep Lie embodies the basic principles of the cold war (west vs. east), but with a new twist which makes this book hard to put down. This book was wrote during the early 80s and it can still keep a 21st century audience. Woods has done it again!

Customer Rating for this product is 5 out of 5 Fast-paced; different type of story line

There is no such thing as a bad Stuart Woods novel, and this is certainly one of his best. Riveting; breath-holding; a MUST read. After you finish this one, read Palindrome, Dirt, New York Dead, Santa Fe Rules, Choke, Dead in the Water (my first Woods' great) and Swimming to Catalina.
