    Sookie Stackhouse Series #1by Davina

November 22, 2009: My best friend came to visit back in August and told me about this TV show called True Blood. The show is about Vampires coming-out of the coffin :) The whole concept I found appealing because it sort of mirrored some of the issues society is having with the gay community. After watching the first season I was hooked and had to find out more about this show, which is what brought me to the books.

True Blood is based on the Sookie Stackhouse series. Though I am only in the first book, I can tell you right now watching the show and reading the books does not take away from the other. If anything the books give more insight to the television show, while the TV show adds more to the book.

I don't like giving away to much about plots of books because I find it spoils the adventure of reading or watching something. If you are into vampires and are a fan of books like "Interview with a Vampire", you will love Dead until Dark.

I Also Recommend: Interview with the Vampire (Vampire Chronicles Series #1).

November 15, 2009: A welcome addition to the present genre of vampire stories. This book is definitely easy reading and at the same time holds your attention. The plot is different enough to separate it from all the other vampire books currently on the market. I will definitely read the rest of the books in the series.
