November 15, 2009: Charlaine Harris sure knows how to write a story! If you didn't already know this is the first book of the sookie stackhouse series that the HBO show TrueBlood is based on. The books are much better than the show! The characters, the plot, everything is so well written & intricately woven that once you pick it up you cannot put it down! While the idea of vampires may sound cliche and boring she has managed to make so modern & interesting! Must read!

November 15, 2009: A welcome addition to the present genre of vampire stories. This book is definitely easy reading and at the same time holds your attention. The plot is different enough to separate it from all the other vampire books currently on the market. I will definitely read the rest of the books in the series.
