Synopsis

For Jon and Erin Bennett, the world seems to be spinning dangerously out of control. A new dictator is rising in Iraq. China is making threatening new moves toward Taiwan. North Korean forces appear ready to strike south. Israel is feverishly trying to complete the Third Temple. Oil prices are surging. And in the wake of an horrific war in the Middle East, President James MacPherson's second term is coming to an end. Now the battle to succeed him is heating up into one of the most fiercely contested presidential elections in American history, and the Bennetts realize the stakes could not be higher. Who will lead a bitterly divided country over the next four years? What can the U.S. do to shape the new world order? And just what role - if any - does the U.S. play in the last days? As the presidential campaign narrows into a dead heat, the Secret Service learns of a catastrophic plot to assassinate one of the candidates - but which one, and can the terrorists be stopped in time?

Customer Rating for this product is 2 out of 5 Right Wing Reader
A reviewer, I love most books....just not this, 05/04/2008

When I bought this book, I had no idea it was right wing theology and that is what it is...the end of world and Jesus and I had no warning and wish I could return it. Was it good, I don't know, but the minute I saw that it was right wing theology, I threw it out.

Reader, A reviewer, 04/09/2008

Container ships off the east and west coasts launch a devastating nuclear attack, destroying four major U.S. cities. To maximize the effect, the attack occurs during the Republican National Convention, resulting in global implications of unprecedented proportion. “There was no doubt…someone was targeting the President of the United States. And they didn’t just want to kill him. They wanted to annihilate him and his government.” The plot mirrors real-time headlines of surging oil prices, a pivotal American presidential election, and increasing political concerns in Iraq, China, South America, and North Korea. The book’s fast-paced events and cliffhangers compel the reader to find out how the world would respond to such an attack. Joel Rosenberg blends imagination with first-hand military and political knowledge to write this bone-chilling scenario of why the United States is not mentioned in end time prophecy. There are enough real-time events and historical facts in the story to make it a frightening, yet plausible, scenario. The characters in the book were caught by surprise that “evil had regathered while the world slept.” This is more than Rosenberg’s fourth compelling political thriller. It is an individual and global challenge to pay attention to the headlines of a rapidly changing world through the lens of Biblical prophecy.
