May 03, 2009: "cruel and usuel punishment" is a very remarkable book and very hard to put down. the arthur nonie darwish has grown up in the middle east and has experienced islamic law first hand and knows what it is like as a woman to experience to be perecuted by it and its many forums of brutal goverments that enforce it. this best seller shows the reader the many types of moslem law in the koran and the many kinds of cruel and inhuman punishments that mainly women can experience for the smallest of offences such as going to work or speaking to a man other thean your husband. this writer and this book has given me great insight into many of the problems going on in the middle east. great gift idea for a friend or family member
