December 06, 2006: Gerri Hill is by far my favorite romance writer, but even if she wasn't, I would have enjoyed 'Coyote Sky'! In her newest book, Gerri continues to do what she does best--create characters you feel like you know and would like to have living next door. Not to mention a setting that makes you want to rush off to New Mexico and dance to the song of the coyote. You may tell yourself such an experience couldn't be possible, but Gerri certainly makes you believe. Without giving too much of the story away, Kate Winters travels to Coyote at the invitation of her long time friend Brenda leaving behind a girlfriend and a life that is stifling her creative muse and ruining her health. She is only in Coyote a few hours when it begins to wrap its calming essence around her soul. She's sleeping better. She's smoking less and she is 'itching' to grab her laptop and let the words flow. But fate has more planned than just restoring her mental/emotional well-being. Because it is in Coyote that she meets the luscious Sheriff Lee Foxx. Although she is put off by the good sheriff's string of young dalliances, Kate cannot resist the lure of Lee's charm anymore than she can resist the lure of Coyote and it's enchanting citizenry. And of course there's a few twists and bumps in the road. I highly recommend 'Coyote Sky' because when it comes to lesbian romance no one creates a better story than Gerri Hill.
