    Synopsis

A sham betrothal isn't the only thing that gets Kitty and Freddy into trouble, but it's definitely the beginning...

    Annotation

Eager to put an end to the attentions of all the fortune-hunting men who pursued her, Miss Kitty Charing fled to London with Freddy Standen, a confirmed bachelor. Kitty found life in the exciting city more wonderful than she ever imagined, but was it the city or the man who brought her newfound happiness? Regency romance reissue.

    Kristin Ramsdell - Library Journal

Threaded with four interwoven romances, this funny, lighthearted charmer (1953) is classic Heyer and a core title for most romance collections.

May 24, 2009: This novel is absolutely hilarious for one who likes Jane Austen's wit. More romantic than one would suppose, too! A good ending, and very humorous characters! A very entertaining read!

December 25, 2007: A lively story, heavy with dialogue, and ofinterest to those into the Regency genre. There are no real villains, which makes ita good selection for those who do not wanttension in their reads.
