The book was good if you wanted to get to know the band and how they came along, but far as personally learning about Cobain,Novoselic, and Grohl, I felt like i was reading a tabloid.

The most interesting book I've read all year.

This book is awesome and some parts I laughed some parts I felt very sad knowing how the book would end. I loved it. I thought it was so funny how it described Nirvana in its earliest stages and how they all drove around in a cramped little van going to gigs where 4 people showed up. I never would've imagined Krist to be this hilarious drunken clumbsy doofus (in a good way) that he comes off as through the book. It showed the many sides of Kurt and how Dave changed their sound into what it became, Nirvana. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone for a informational, interesting or just plain funny read.

While this is a good book, filled with wonderful pictures, and actually has interviews from Kurt himself, it is a slightly skewed version of his life and Nirvana's rise to fame. Kurt Cobain was know for making up stories about his life rather then telling the truth. If you want to know that real story of Kurt Cobain, then you might want to try Heaver Then Heaven by Charles R. Cross. Through years of reasarch and over 400 interviews, he truly gives a wonderful view of everything Nirvana.

Also recommended: Heaver Then Heaven and Kurt's Journals.

first of all, this book is awesome! so awesome that if i were to actually write all the words to describe it, i could very well write my own book! being a huge nirvana fan and a high school senior, i found this book not only 99.9% accurate but, also, thoroughly enjoyable. one of my friends, who had, for some ungodly reason, never even heard of nirvana, read this book i let him borrow and ended up knowing just about as much as i did about them by the end of the week! i love kurt cobain and whatever higher force that is out there (god, jehovah, etc.) i hope they make sure he rests in peace, he will always be loved and missed greatly by fans and musicians alike and, being that i play the guitar and i know the angst of the teenage years, i have a great deal of respect for his legendary music. in short: if you know nothing about nirvana and kurt cobain and the legend that is the very essence of this band, read this book and you will get the complete 4-1-1! rock on, live strong, & have no regrets! ^_^

kurt cobain must be the most BRILLIANT person that ever created music on the face of the earth i've never heard such awesome music there are just no words to describe him and the rest of the band Kurt Cobain - May you rest in peace for those who don't know, Kurt Cobain shot himself on April 5th, 1994 in his Seattle home.
