Grab your plates! In the land of Chewandswallow, meals - rather than rain or snow - fall from the sky. But something goes awry: the food falling from the sky gets larger and larger, causing the residents to make an escape before being squashed by giant pancakes or rolls. Ron Barrett dishes up some droll art work in this zany tall tale.
Life is delicious in the town of Chewandswallow where it rains soup and juice, snows mashed potatoes, and blows storms of hamburgers--until the weather takes a turn for the worse.

September 23, 2009: I read this to my boys years ago and they loved it. It is still funny. It appeals to kids. I bought for another child to read as he gets older. Great book for kids and now I see it is a movie.

August 15, 2009: Imagine that instead of rain or snow, food fell from the sky. Be careful what you ask for, you just may get it. A funny story in a weird sort of way, as the town thrives, then survives the imaginary precipitation. Thought-provoking and amusing at the same time. A wonderful classic for your enjoyment.
