Reviewer:Celso Agner, MD, MSc (University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine)
Description:This book, now in its fifth edition, incorporates widely used techniques in the diagnosis of neurological disorders. This is a needed update.
Purpose:The purpose is to integrate recent advances in neuroscience into the clinical realms of practicing neurologists and neurosurgeons.
Audience:Neurologists and neurosurgeons are the main audience.
Features:Twenty authors contribute 27 chapters to this book. Since the last edition, multiple techniques have been perfected, in particular electrodiagnostic technologies. As in previous editions, the authors demystify neuroscience for their audience. Advances in imaging, as well as in the understanding of neurological diseases are incorporated nicely into this well written and superb book. In addition, the online resources help readers understand concepts that might otherwise be difficult to grasp.
Assessment:This excellent book belongs in any major medical or neurological libraries.
