A Must for Those Who Love Historyby 1oldgeezer

September 26, 2009: This is an impassioned view of the Civil War, impassioned not out of partisanship but out of deep love for our America. Reading it will be both horrifying and uplifting; but in the final analysis it is great literature that shares much in common with Thucydides History of the Pelopenesian War.

December 28, 2004: The sheer volume of information in this series is mind boggling, but the author ties all the battles as well as political cimate of the times into an amazingly smooth flowing read. It reads like a novel and I found myself holding my breath for the outcomes of the battles. Saw no bias towards either side from the author.
